Baha’i: Studies in Contemporary Religion

Margit Warburg is an associate professor in the Sociology of Religion at the University of Copenhagen. She serves on the advisory board of the Danish Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs and is co-chair of the academic Research Network on New Religions. She has studied the Baha’i community for twenty-five years, conducting research at the Baha’i World Center in Haifa, Israel, and in Baha’i communities in Africa, Asia, Europe, and America. She is the co-editor, with Eileen Barker, of New Religions and New Religiosity and the author of several other books.

This book is a rare, scholarly overview of the Baha’i Faith, its history, its teachings, and contemporary Baha’i community issues. It provides an excellent perspective on the Baha’i Faith today from a neutral and disinterested point of view.
