Declaration of the Báb: A Compilation

In the Persian Bayán, the Báb has fixed the exact moment of the beginning of His revelation as two hours and eleven minutes after sunset on the evening of May 23, 1844. Every year on that date, Bahá’ís around the world gather to commemorate this event–the dawn of a new era in religious history.

This book is an easy reference guide to important selections from the Bahá’í Writings on the Declaration of the Báb. They’re great for planning annual celebrations, or they can be studied on their own, or in deepenings or children’s classes, for a better understanding of this momentous event.

It includes sections with passages from the Writings of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh, two table talks delivered by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá during Holy Day celebrations, writings from Shoghi Effendi on its meaning and the station of the Báb, and, of course, accounts of the events of the Declaration itself.

It is hoped that this short volume will be of service to Bahá’í families and communities.
